ART is an American executive search firm, founded in 1987, that uses "best in class" methods to identify the best possible candidates for our client companies' senior management executive searches in Asia and worldwide. ART relies entirely on fast-paced, results-oriented, American-style headhunting - the direct approach method by which candidates at the client's competitors or near-competitors are solicited - as well as our own well-established candidate and industry contacts.
ART has never used advertising, as recruitment by advertising is at best some kind of roundabout, passive, luck-based strategy. Our client-companies do not hire us to be lucky. They hire us because we are professional headhunters trained to seek out, evaluate and present the best possible candidates for our clients' most important business missions.
Most ART searches are completed in 3-4 weeks, regardless of title, location or industry. We are in continuous operation, 24/7/365, and we only accept searches if we believe that we have a very strong chance of pleasing our clients with candidates whom they would want to hire. Please note that ART never partners with or outsources any search to other recruitment firms. By doing our clients' searches entirely ourselves, we are able to control the quality and timelines of the search.
ABOUT OUR FEES... AND OUR DIFFERENCE
ART's fee policy is a flat-fee (fixed fee), results-only policy. We have found that this method - where the client only pays us if our candidates are good enough for them to hire - is the best way to encourage our recruiters to work efficiently and intelligently. We also offer a comprehensive 100% money-back guarantee on our placements, another important factor that keeps us focused on our candidates and clients.
We do not accept retainers for any search, as we believe that retainer-focused executive search is a ruinous focus that both forces employers to hire whomever is presented to them and that causes recruiters to put their emphasis on guaranteeing their being paid before doing any work. Shouldn't the emphasis of an executive search firm be on satisfying their candidates and client companies? It is noteworthy that in very many cases, we have been contacted by employers to find candidates for searches after retainer-focused recruiters have miserably failed them. Clearly, how a recruitment firm is paid has no relationship to the quality or success of the search. A retainer only guarantees that the recruiter will be paid, even if the recruiter fails to serve the employer.
ABOUT YOUR RECRUITER
ART recruiters assigned to a client's search always have a minimum of ten years' experience in senior management executive search and recruitment. That person will not only be the client's contact person, but s/he also will be directly involved in the client's executive search. By keeping our recruiters close to both our candidates and our clients at all stages of the recruitment effort, the client can be assured that the ART search will be more intensely focused, especially if the search must involve multiple cities or countries.

While our emphasis is on finding candidates who live in the same city where our client needs them to be, if there is flexibility by our client as far as relocation policy, we can easily broaden the recruitment radius regionally, nationally or even internationally. We are easily equipped to recruit in multiple cities or countries simultaneously without any special delay.
Our emphasis is on in-country candidates (locals and expatriates), but ART has the added advantage that we recruit globally, so we are easily able to supplement local choices with top candidates now residing in other parts of Asia, North America, Europe, Australia or elsewhere who have industry experiences, cultural roots, or language skills directly related to the target Asian country.
Because ART is a global executive search firm, we can be especially useful for searches involving cross-cultural or international recruitment requirements, where trust and minimal risk are of special importance. ART recruits candidates across the linguistic and cultural groups present in the Asia-Pacific region. Many of our candidates in the Asia-Pacific region have been educated at leading universities and business schools in the U.S.A., Canada, Australia or Europe, and if they have not been trained or have not worked abroad, most have successful track records working at successful local business units of European, American, Canadian or Australian firms.
It is always the goal of ART recruiters to try to find good candidate matches that minimize the risk to our client companies. Whenever possible, we try to identify candidates who have language skills and business styles that are those of the employer. We look for candidates who know the client's product or market, who have good local contacts with customers and suppliers; and most importantly, whose personal preferences and career histories are aligned with the client's corporate business culture. Not all companies are the same, and so a person who is a great General Manager for a very large multinational company, might be ill-suited to the needs of a faster-paced medium sized company. We understand these subtleties well, as we have over 25 years' making such matches - a longevity and depth of experience that just is not found among recruitment firms in Asia. All ART candidates are expected to have fluent or very strong conversational English skills. Typically our candidates are fluent in the principal business language of their specific Asian country, although this might not always be the case with certain otherwise qualified expatriate candidates. Many of our candidates are multilingual. Many have worked in or serviced multiple Asian countries.
We conduct senior management executive search assignments across the Asia-Pacific Region, on the Asia-Pacific, Asia Regional, sub-regional, or national levels. Candidate focus is on the recruitment of experienced managers who have worked at leading global companies or at well-run medium sized companies that have strong footholds in Asia or beyond. Other top candidates may also be considered.
Some executive searches are for mission-critical sole-contributors, while other searches are for organizational heads supervising many hundreds or thousands of staff members.
