Chain Sourcing Manager will report to the President/
CEO.

The Challenge
The firm has established strong
and loyal relationships within the top porcelain and
ceramic manufacturers in the world. The team now wants
to do the same in the stone and slab industry. It is
looking for an individual who has boots on the ground
within the worlds major stone and slab production areas
(Turkey, China, etc) who will drive to ensure that the
firm is able to source the best products at the most
economical prices. The team member will be based within
the stone hotbeds and will have, over their career,
established the best relationships and contacts within
the major players of the stone and slab world. By
negotiating the best deals, working on site to ensure
excellent quality gets loaded into the firm's
containers, and structuring their deliveries to match
their requirements, the team will look to this
individual to support the growth of its stone and slab
business to become a true North American leader in this
market.
Job Duties
Either working within the
areas of the stone suppliers (East Europe, Italy, Asia)
or within North America, source and negotiate with
suppliers to get best in class slabs and stones for our
deliveries / requirements
Liase with headquarters
purchasing staff to ensure proper communication flow
between purchasing group and suppliers that supports
right product shipping with good quality at most
economical costs
Establish consistent quality
standards including finishing, edging, packaging and
palletizing and work with suppliers to ensure 100%
compliance to standards
Travel onsite to suppliers as
required to oversee quality control and inspect outgoing
container loading as required
Liase with suppliers and HQ
purchasing team with respect to timely resolution of any
quality or rework issues including tracking and
obtaining credits for poor quality product as required
Ensure all orders are shipped
on time, in full, and with good quality to North America
in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
Communicate all delays or
variances in orders to purchasing team including
pro-active strategies to get orders back on track and
shipped on time.
Create and cultivate strong
relationships with both existing and new suppliers
ensuring access to the worlds best stone products
Perform other duties as
necessary.
