OUR RECRUITMENT FOCUS IN INDIA
We recruit experienced, world-class Local and Expatriate Senior Managers for Leading Companies, in charge of India-level, South Asian Regional, or for wider Indo-Pacific Regional responsibilities.
We also might consider very internationally experienced local candidates for positions outside the country, such as for senior and middle management roles in the Middle East or Africa.
In India we accept searches only for well-established American, Western European, Korean and Japanese firms, for positions that would be based in India.
We recruit people who can act as Sole Contributors or as managers capable of running  large departments or business units.
ART conducts India-wide as well as global executive search assignments related to positions in India. While our preference is to find the best possible candidates at our clients' competitors in the same city as their facility, if necessary, ART recruiters are easily able to consider a larger all-India candidate base. In addition, ART recruits within the NRI (non-resident Indian) communities of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries.

Such candidates often have Western university education or business culture exposures that may allow for an easier two-way communication between headquarters and the management of the Indian business unit.
Our emphasis is to find managers who perform well in accordance with the business culture of the foreign company. Most of our Indian candidates have worked in senior roles at leading foreign firms, thereby increasing the chances of their success the new position.
We take particular care to try to find people who are accustomed to working in a business model that resembles that of the client company. A person who works well at a top, large firm, for example, might not be the right person as employee #1 at a foreign greenfield business unit in India.

Our objective is to find candidates who are sensitive to both the business culture of the home company and to that of the local Indian customer and staff. The objective is to find a leader whom the foreign company can trust to run their business, while effectively reaching local customers and employees in a way that they will find comforting.

A Very Critical Difference between ART and our competitors in India: unlike nearly every single Indian recruitment firm, ART has never used advertisements to find candidates for our clients.
  • Advertising is, at best, a hit-or-miss, luck-based recruitment strategy. If a recruitment firm relies on advertising, they are not doing executive search. They are merely placing advertisements and poorly trained clerks are left to determine if candidates fit the client's needs. This kind of standard might be acceptable for general labor recruitment but it is far too risky for international corporations to rely on such slapdash methods in order to find their Head of Sales, or to find their next Regional Managing Director, for example.
  • ART client companies do not hire us to be lucky. ART is an American executive search firm founded in 1987. Our recruiters are all "headhunters," not advertisement-placers. Our clients hire us because we know candidates in the right locations and at the right companies.. These are candidates whom we have known for years, and in the event that they are not available, they are people whom we can rely on to refer us to even more suitable candidates.
