Recruitment
in Korea of Korean Managers for Foreign
Companies:
In
Korea we recruit Korean nationals for roles
as Senior Managers and Middle-Managers for
American and European companies where the
goal is to increase local Korean or
Northeast Asian market share, or to increase
the overall efficiency of an existing
foreign-owned Korean business unit.
Often the
best solution is to recruit Korean-English
bilingual or multilingual managers who have
strong track records of success in the
markets of Korea, or in the Asia-Pacific
region as a whole. Korean nationals who have
been educated abroad or who have worked
abroad, or who have spent significant time
working in Korea for foreign firms are of
greatest interest to us and our
client-companies.
We
have a strong interest in Korean managerial
candidates from all industries who are
multilingual, particularly those with strong
skills in Korean and English, along with
Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai
or other languages. Such candidates could be
particularly considered for regional
Northeast Asia or Asia-Pacific managerial
roles.
Our
emphasis is to find managers who perform
well in accordance with the business style
of the foreign company. The objective is to
find a leader whom the foreign company can
trust to run their business, while
effectively reaching local Korean customers,
suppliers, and employees in a way that they
will find comforting.
Whenever
possible, we seek candidates who have worked
at their best in similar roles at
foreign firms, often at our client's direct
competitors or near-competitors. Familiarity
with the target industry or market sector
usually means faster success, minimized
risk, and greater organizational
effectiveness.
We
take particular care to try to find people
who are accustomed to working in a business
model that resembles that of the client
company. A person who works well at a top
Korean chaebol, or even at a large
multinational Western firm, for example,
might not be the right person as employee #1
at a medium-sized foreign firm's greenfield
business unit in Korea.
Searches
might be at the Korean national level,
Northeast Asian regional level, or
Asia-Pacific level.
Recruitment
of Foreign Managers Abroad for Korean
Companies:
We
recruit worldwide experienced, world-class
Senior Managers and Middle-Managers for
business units located outside of South
Korea - in the larger Asia-Pacific region,
Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa
or the Middle East.
Because
of our firm's recruitment of top business
leaders in over 100 countries on six
continents, ART is well equipped to help
Korean firms find key managers to improve
their firm's business objectives abroad.

ART is in
full compliance with South Korean
employment law and international
treaties:
- South Korea's commitments under the
World Trade Organization (WTO) General
Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS)
allow for such cross-border supply of
business services, including management
consulting and executive recruitment,
without needing a local entity.
Important note:
ART acts only an executive search firm whose
recruitment consultants refer candidates to our
client-companies for consideration of positions
with their firms. ART is not in any way involved
in the hiring, employment, or payroll issues
involving Korean candidates whom our
client-companies decide to hire. Those matters
are the responsibility of our client-companies.
In South Korea,
ART is normally only recruiting Korean nationals
for positions. In some cases, persons in South
Korea or abroad having Korean nationality plus
another citizenship (ie., U.S., Canada,
Australia) might also be considered if they have
a valid South Korean work visa. Other foreign
executive candidates residing in Korea would not
typically be considered, unless they are
qualified for the position, and have Korean
citizenship or a visa type that permits them to
change employers.
ART is not an
employment agency, so ART is absolutely not in
any way involved in visa sponsorship or other
issues for foreign workers wishing to work in
the Republic of Korea. If an employer requests
that a foreign executive expatriate be recruited
outside of South Korea, our role would only be
to refer such candidate, but it would be the
entire responsibility of the client-company and
candidate to deal directly with Korean
immigration and visa issues for transfer to a
job in South Korea.
