in this role at foreign firms. We take
particular care to try to find people who
are accustomed to working in a business
model that resembles that of the client
company. A person who works well at a top,
large Austrian firm, for example,
might not be the right person as employee
#1 at a medium-sized foreign firm's
greenfield business unit in Austria.
- Our
objective in this search is to find
candidates who are sensitive to both the
business culture of the home company and
to that of the local
Austrian, German, or Swiss customers. The
objective is to find a leader whom the
foreign company can trust to run their
business, while effectively reaching local
customers in a way that they will find
comforting.
- Searches
might be at the national level,
D-A-CH level, pan-European level, or
EMEA level. As ART is frequently asked by
our client companies to identify EMEA
Managing Directors or pan-Europe Sales
Directors who are based in Austria,
Germany or Switzerland, candidates with
additional fluency in multiple European

any way involved in the hiring, payroll,
visa/immigration details, or employment of
candidates referred by ART to a
client-company, as would an employment agency.
The Employer of Record would be our European
client-company's legal entity or another local
European established company entity chosen by
our client-company.
For non-EU providers
like a US firm like ART, the WTO General
Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) and
bilateral agreements (e.g., US-EU Trade and
Technology Council discussions) allow
cross-border supply of business services,
including executive search as advisory, without
