  • Local German-speaking "Change Management" Senior Managers who can update, modernize or internationalize D-A-CH firms' style of business, particularly with a focus on expanding beyond D-A-CH home markets, making the most of business opportunities across Europe and worldwide while preserving the best characteristics of the Mittelstand company.

ART recruits senior leaders across:


Local managers for foreign companies, where the goal is to increase local market share with bilingual German-English or multilingual managers who have strong track records of success in the national markets of Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and or in the European or EMEA market as a unity.

    • Our emphasis in this kind of search is to find managers who perform well in accordance with the business culture of the foreign company. In addition to being fluent in German and English, ART has candidates in certain industry sectors who are fluent in other European, Asian and Mideast languages, allowing for stronger communications between HQ and the local market.

     

    • Whenever possible, for this kind of search we seek candidates who have worked at their best in this role at foreign firms. We take particular care to try to find people who are accustomed to working in a business model that resembles that of the client company. A person who works well at a top, large Austrian firm, for example, might not be the right person as employee #1 at a medium-sized foreign firm's greenfield business unit in Austria.

     

    • Our objective in this search is to find candidates who are sensitive to both the business culture of the home company and to that of the local Austrian, German, or Swiss customers. The objective is to find a leader whom the foreign company can trust to run their business, while effectively reaching local customers in a way that they will find comforting.

     

    • Searches might be at the national level, D-A-CH level, pan-European level, or EMEA level. As ART is frequently asked by our client companies to identify EMEA Managing Directors or pan-Europe Sales Directors who are based in Austria, Germany or Switzerland, candidates with additional fluency in multiple European languages are especially of interest to us.
Foreign managers, some fluent in German as well as English and the local language, who can be entrusted to manage D-A-CH business units in Europe, Asia, Latin America, North America, Africa or the Middle East
    • When expanding overseas, many Austrian, German,or Swiss firms - especially Mittelstand SME's - 'kleine und mittlere Unternehmen', KMU - do not know where to find local managers who have a high enough standard of training to properly manage their business. ART candidates in other countries, some trained in Europe, have been tested as managers at leading world companies, and they could be the best way for D-A-CH companies to expand abroad.

     

    • ART's approach to executive search is to avoid risks whenever possible and to find candidates who bring the best long term benefits to the client company.

     

    • Unlike most recruitment firms based in Austria, Germany, or Switzerland, which have to depend upon outsourced recruiters and unclear partnerships with foreign recruiters for overseas searches, ART does 100% of all our own recruitment. We recruit directly in over 100 countries, and we never use any other recruitment company to find our candidates. In this way, we are able to deliver excellent candidates with the same level of efficiency and quality of service that is expected in our clients' home countries.

     

    • We also recruit Austrian, German and Swiss managers outside of the D-A-CH region. Most of these managers have strong business experiences in the target area, language and market. Because many of these managers have effectively localized, they often do not require expatriate benefits.

    • Very D-A-CH large  corporations, medium sized public corporations, as well as traditional medium sized privately-owned (Mittelstand SME - 'kleine und mittlere Unternehmen', KMU), that might need to find a change-agent senior manager to help their long range business growth plans.

     

    • Many of these firms have been in continuous operation for over 100 years, often under the leadership of a single family. So much of the firm's historic successes have been due to the dedication of family managers to product excellence, and often these businesses' successes are due to working with the best, brightest and hardest working people in their local communities. The success of these businesses and the excellence of their products should serve as models for larger world companies!

ART is not in any way involved in the hiring, payroll, visa/immigration details, or employment of candidates referred by ART to a client-company, as would an employment agency. The Employer of Record would be our European client-company's legal entity or another local European established company entity chosen by our client-company.

For non-EU providers like a US firm like ART, the WTO General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) and bilateral agreements (e.g., US-EU Trade and Technology Council discussions) allow cross-border supply of business services, including executive search as advisory, without local establishment.  (see: CPC 865 under WTO classifications)
